Tasting note – Test Glenfiddich 40 years
Color:Dark mahogany.
Nose:Very multi-faceted and multi-layered. The notes of dried fruits, dark chocolate, freshly roasted coffee and ripe black cherries are wonderful. Burnt wood, leather and carnations create an excellent contrast.
Palate:Dates, raisins, fruit bread and steamed apples appear silky soft. The fruity nuances are gradually replaced by dry oak, dark chocolate and some peat.
Finish:Unusually long and intense, almost unforgettable.
